The industrial heroes go back to their roots on the new track from the group's upcoming EP.

"Burning Bright (Field On Fire)" begins with an impenetrable wall of brutal noise. The industrial flavor continues throughout on Nine Inch Nails' latest song, in which chaos prevails except for a few moments. In those, Trent Reznor sings "Break through the surface and breathe" — and then the all-encompassing dissonance returns.

The track comes off of Nine Inch Nails' new EP called Not the Actual Events, out tomorrow (December 23).

"It's an unfriendly, fairly impenetrable record that we needed to make," said Reznor in a statement (via Rolling Stone). "It's an EP because that ended up being the proper length to tell that story."
